Cardiff IAP Visitors and Notes

Entering the hold at 07:22 waiting for the fog to clear is Beech 200 G-SGEC ..returned to Leeds 08:43

Inbound to the CDF 11:45 from the South is Hercules C.5 ZH889/889 c/s "Gauntlet 59" ..it will make one approach before departing low level to the South...overshoot 12:13, and yes i missed it in the soup!!

Departing at 12:39 is c/s "Highway 001" nothing seen on SBS, possibly to Manchester

Inbound at 13:20 is Binair Metro D-IBIN c/s "BID3A" ..landed 13:36 parking Stand 15 ..this one taxiing for departure 17:58 c/s "BID38A"

Inbound now 15:52 from Rotterdam is Cessna 441 N22CG c/s "Duke 02" ..departed to Glasgow 16:42 with the same c/s

MOD St Athan Information - EGSY 07/25

To spot here you're best off taking the B4265 St Athan to Llantwit Major road. From here you will see a railway bridge that leads to a paved track that runs along the fence and runway. This track leads to an unmanned entrance gate and is under CCTV surveillance. If you use this track, please park at the far end, not on the verges, as it is used by wide farm vehicles and delivery lorries. All a/c in outside storage can be seen from the bridge itself. The track can also be accessed via St Athan village via Llantwit Road opposite the Church. To view the Caerdav hangar (Twin Peaks) and scrapping area continue westbound along the B4265, past the West Gate entrance and turn right at the traffic lights. Follow this road to the T-junction and turn right onto the new road. The entrance road to the South Wales Aviation Museum is left at the next traffic lights, views can also be had from here as it's the only convenient stopping place. Be aware there are regular Security and Police patrols around the airfield and you may be stopped and questioned.
