Cardiff IAP Airport open 09:00-18:00 & PPR ..runway in use 30

Visitors

Landing at 07:47 from Luton is LNX05AL "Lonex 05AL" Cessna 560XL Citation XLS+ G-GAAL ..parking on the Cambrian apron ..departed at 16:37 back to Luton with the same c/s
Landing at 14:12 from Doncaster via a 4-hour sortie over the North Sea & English Channel is CGD22B "Coastguard 22B" Beech 200 King Air G-HMGB ..parking on the Cambrian apron with Global Trek ..departed at 15:25 with the same c/s around the coast for a mission in the Isle of Man area before recovery to Doncaster

Training Flights & Flybys
Training today were:
LDG14 "Edge 14" DA42NG Twin Star G-LDGF ..go-rounds 10:20, 10:37 and departed back to Oxford
LDG11 "Edge 11" DA42NG Twin Star G-LDGA ..go-rounds 12:17, 12:45 into a circuit and departure back to Oxford

MOD St Athan Information - EGSY 07/25

To spot here you're best off taking the B4265 St Athan to Llantwit Major road. From here you will see a railway bridge that leads to a paved track that runs along the fence and runway. This track leads to an unmanned entrance gate and is under CCTV surveillance. If you use this track, please park at the far end, not on the verges, as it is used by wide farm vehicles and delivery lorries. All a/c in outside storage can be seen from the bridge itself. The track can also be accessed via St Athan village via Llantwit Road opposite the Church. To view the Caerdav hangar (Twin Peaks) and scrapping area continue westbound along the B4265, past the West Gate entrance and turn right at the traffic lights. Follow this road to the T-junction and turn right onto the new road. The entrance road to the South Wales Aviation Museum is left at the next traffic lights, views can also be had from here as it's the only convenient stopping place. Be aware there are regular Security and Police patrols around the airfield and you may be stopped and questioned.
