GJD Services is an EASA / CAA approved Part 145 Aircraft Maintenance Organisation specialising in the disassembly of aircraft and providing cost effective serviceable certified parts for direct re-entry into service or into stock. In addition GJD AeroTech provide certified short or long term parking and storage maintenance, return to service checks, AOG support, AD and Maintenance Program compliance with the ability to perform ‘A’ checks at the customers location, at a time to suit you. Our team of dedicated Licensed Engineers and qualified maintenance professionals will provide a high level, flexible, and professional service where and when required. MSN 21635/365 - ff 19/03/79 - dd 27/03/79 to British Airways - on 24 June 1982, whilst operating flight BA009 flight from London Heathrow to Auckland, the aircraft flew into a cloud of volcanic ash thrown up by the eruption of Mount Galunggung (approximately 110 miles (180 km) south-east of Jakarta, Indonesia), resulting in the failure of all four engines. The reason for the failure was not immediately apparent to the crew or air traffic control. The aircraft was diverted to Jakarta in the hope that enough engines could be restarted to allow it to land there. (G-APXX)/"VH-FDT" de Havilland Australia DHA-3 Drover II

MSN 5014 - 1951 built in Sidney, Australia as VH-EAS - 12/60 purchased by Air Navigation & Trading Company Ltd, Blackpool (Squires Gate) Airport - 19/09/61 arrived at Liverpool Docks by sea and roaded to Squires Gate - 15/12/61 registered G-APXX but reportedly never used - 19/05/67 moved to Southend for preservation by the predecessors of the museum - 1971 Historic Aircraft Museum, Southend "VH-FDT" - 26/11/73 reg cancelled as PWFU - 10/05/83 auctioned on museum closure and sold to Doug Arnold for £1,700 - mid 83 Warbirds of Great Britain, Blackbushe - by 07/85 Second World War Aircraft Preservation Society, Lasham - late 2009 sold to Parkhouse Aviation on museum closure - by 10/10 moved to Wycombe Air Park - 05/08/13 arrived at St Athan - 06/19 to SWAM restoration area in GJD hangar

G-AWMI Glos-Airtourer 115

This AESL built Airtourer T2 is construction number 505 and was first registered, as G-AWMI, on 24/07/68 to Glos Air Ltd at Staverton. On 21/10/70 the owner changed to the Glamorgan Flying Club Ltd, Rhoose Airport, beginning its long association with Cardiff. Between 28/10/80 and 23/11/82 it was with a Swindon owner before returning to local ownership with Red Dragon Aviation Ltd. Remaining at Cardiff it underwent ownership changes in 02/87, 12/94 and 04/01. On 31/12/04 total flying hours were recorded as 6,263. On 08/05/08 its Certificate of Airworthiness expired and in 05/09 it was seen dismantled and devoid of paint in the Robin hangar at Cardiff Airport. On 07/12/10 G-AWMI was de-registered by the CAA. In late 03/22 the major parts moved to Horizon Aircraft Services, St Athan, shortly before the demolition of its gale-damaged hangar. On 10/04/22 the fuselage and wings came to SWAM on loan for rebuild and a repaint. Owner passed away and undercarriage, tailplane and engine/propeller disposed of by relatives before they could be acquired, rendering restoration unworthwhile. Dumped outside GJD hangar.
